Dr. Iram Hina

Dr. Iram Hina directs all academic research initiatives, study protocols, and clinical trial compliance at General Veterinary Hospital. Holding a Ph.D. in Veterinary Pathology from the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad (UAF) awarded in September 2024, Dr. Hina brings highly specialized academic and diagnostic research experience to our hospital.
Her expertise encompasses histopathology, hemato-immunological parameter analysis, serum biochemistry profiling, and infectious disease mechanisms. Under her leadership, GVH integrates routine outpatient diagnostics with advanced biomarker tracking to improve survival rates in critically ill companion animals.

Immunopathological Effects of Viral & Dietary Toxin Co-Infections
Feb 2019 – Nov 2020
Methodology & Purpose: A field study investigating the severe immunopathological effects and diagnostic presentation of FAdv-4 (Avian Adenovirus) infection in flock birds co-infected via Aflatoxin B1 contaminated feed. This audit improved GVH’s internal differential diagnostic protocols for commercial flock clients, allowing faster identification of toxin-mediated immunosuppression.

Avian Pharmacovigilance: Hemato-Immunological Impact of NSAIDs

Methodology & Purpose: An internal toxicological audit determining the effects of different combinations of NSAIDs (including Acetylsalicylic acid) and Acetaminophen on hemato-immunological parameters, body organs, and serum biochemistry in avian patients. The data was utilized to establish strict, safe dosing thresholds and prevent hepatic toxicity in our avian and commercial flock patients.

Canine Parvoviral Enteritis: Biomarker Tracking & Prognostic Assessment
July 2023 – June 2025
Full Title: “Evaluation of Hematological, Biochemical, and Acute Phase Responses in Canine Parvoviral Enteritis with Prognostic Assessment of CRP and Lipid Profile in Dogs.”
Methodology & Purpose: This 24-month internal audit evaluated a clinical cohort of 40 canine patients presenting with confirmed canine parvovirus enteritis. The trial monitored serial complete blood counts (CBC), serum C-reactive protein (CRP) dynamics, and total biochemical panels at presentation, Day 3, and Day 7 to optimize in-house treatment protocols.

Preparation and Pathophysiological Evaluation of Hyperimmune Serum against CPV
Application Submitted
Methodology & Purpose: Built directly upon the pathophysiological data gathered during our 24-month Canine Parvovirus clinical trials, this ongoing translational project focuses on the preparation and efficacy evaluation of a proprietary CPV hyperimmune serum. Following extensive R&D and robust clinical testing against natural CPV infections, the formulation provides targeted, rapid-acting antibody therapy to significantly reduce mortality in critically ill canine patients.
Current Status: Formal application for commercialization of this product has been successfully submitted to regulatory authorities.

Objective: Evaluating conservative, non-surgical medical management protocols (utilizing receptor antagonists, prostaglandins, and targeted antimicrobial therapy) for open-cervix pyometra in breeding or high-risk surgical patients.

Antiviral Efficacy & Outcome Profiling in Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP)
Objective: Documenting treatment responses, hematological recovery, and organ biochemistry stability in cats undergoing nucleoside analog antiviral therapy (GS-441524 / oral formulations) for wet and dry FIP.
